An innovation in mission-critical mobile communications

The latest product in the AVI Field Ethernet System (FES), the Embedded Services Router (ESR) has been released. AVI developed FES to provide highly-portable, rugged reliable networking devices that provide high-speed field networks for mission-critical situations.FES-ESR shown with optional Ethernet switch installed

AVI is a registered Cisco partner and developed and manufactured the FES-ESR to integrate the Cisco 5940 Series Embedded Services Router into the AVI Field Ethernet System.

FES delivers high-speed, flexible field networks and is ideal for military Deployable Local Area Networks (DLAN) deployable Local Area Networks (LANs), headquarters and tactical command posts, or minor deployed nodes.

The FES-ESR is a small form factor, field-deployable, rugged router featuring Cisco® technology. It provides four gigabit router ports enablingfes_esr_6 the router to serve as an aggregation point for on-demand network connectivity in mobile or fixed deployments in harsh environments.

"Cisco has the breadth and depth needed to address all the requirements of truly mobile networking in rugged environments, “said Tony Routledge, Managing Director and founder of AVI.

“The Cisco 5940 ESR meets the demands of all types of extreme applications, making the most of limited bandwidth in constantly changing or emergency environments to enable a new level of response and effectiveness for public safety and government operations,” he said.

AVI continues to work closely with Cisco to develop our products as Cisco technology becomes available, often undertaking parallel development during Cisco’s product migration process.
